Cocktails and Comic Books; Appetizers and Apps – There’s a lot to enjoy at next week’s Spring Benefit

Deb Levy

Deb Levy is Director of Communications & Marketing at ExpandED Schools.

Spring Benefit 2016Next Thursday, we’ll be celebrating the enriched education and enhanced opportunities we bring to students and schools throughout New York City. Guests at our May 5th Spring Benefit will have the chance to mingle with kids and teaching artists and experience hands-on learning. It’ll be like going back to school – only with passed hors d'oeuvres, a light jazz soundtrack and cocktails.

Student groups from seven different schools will share their projects and passions – from book clubs to film to robotics. Cast members from a student production of The Lion King will show off their masks and costumes, as well as video and reflections of their moment in the spotlight. Students who are happiest behind the camera will display their animation and documentary creations. Budding engineers will demonstrate their solar cars and mobile apps, while future illustrators and storytellers will exhibit their original comic books.

Guests will also be entertained by three different dance troupes performing Latin dance, step and breakdance moves. All the while, cub reporters will mingle with guests and do some investigative reporting.

We’re gearing up for a great night at the Hippodrome that you won’t want to miss. Click here to get your tickets. See you soon!
