Engineering Design Challenges

Looking for fun, hands-on STEM projects that support middle schoolers in planning, building, and testing their own designs?  Join ExpandED Schools for an exciting workshop exploring design-based learning, the engineering design process, and strategies to get kids moving, thinking and building during STEM activities in afterschool.  Participants will leave with over 30 design challenge lesson plans that connect school-day science content with youth development practices, useful strategies to improve the quality of STEM instruction, and handy materials lists that make sourcing STEM supplies less challenging. Ready, set, engineer!

Wednesday, February 27th, 2019 9:30am-12: 30 pm  

(Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and a prompt start to the training)

 

Target Audience:  Site Directors, Site Supervisors, Ed Specialist/ Instruction Coordinator, Community Educators/ Line Staff, Teachers

Max. Participants:  45 (3 per site)

Cancelation Notice

If you are unable to attend the training and are sending an appropriate staff member as a replacement OR if you are canceling your registration, please notify Taejha Richardson within 72 hours (or 3 business days) of the scheduled training. If the individual responsible for the original registration fails to notify ExpandED Schools of the cancellation, ExpandED Schools reserves the right to invoice the CBO for the per-person training cost.
