Strategies for Student Engagement (Grades 6-8)

Do you struggle to keep your middle schoolers engaged, focused and on task in activities? Students are undergoing complex physical, emotional and cognitive changes. For many youth, the middle school years are a wild ride, filled with insecurity, peer pressure, awkwardness and world-rocking transitions. Learn why these years are challenging for youth workers and educators as well as the kids themselves. Participants will explore the top five strategies for combatting middle school disengagement and keeping students on track.

If you are unable to attend the training and are sending an appropriate staff member as a replacement OR if you are canceling your registration, please notify Taejha Richardson within 72 hours (or 3 business days) of the scheduled training. If the individual responsible for the original registration fails to notify ExpandED Schools of the cancellation, ExpandED Schools reserves the right to invoice the CBO for the per-person training cost.
