SUMMARY:MS ExTRA Literacy Educators PD Session 3: Conflict/Dilemma and High Stakes in Literature
DESCRIPTION:  \nFacilitators: Tiffany Perry and Noel Morales \nIn this workshop\, we will be establishing what is high stakes in a novel. Also how high stakes impact conflict and adds to the dilemma of a story. In addition\, we will discuss how pacing and strong characters influence how the plot is displayed throughout the book\, which increases the stakes. Finally\, we will examine how conflict\, dilemma and highstakes moves the plot and evolves the characters throughout our story while keeping our readers engaged. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.3 \nEducators will walk away with the ability to understand how the author creates high stakes in a story through conflict and dilemma which keeps the reader’s attention and motivates them to continue with the novel.
