SUMMARY:Webinar: Creating Comics for Creativity\, Entrepreneurship & Literacy
DESCRIPTION:One of the best pathways to literacy\, creativity\, and self-discovery is through a focus on entrepreneurship\, where youths plan\, develop\, and even launch original businesses (comic book companies\, music record labels\, slam poetry festivals\, and more). This workshop highlights the relationship between literacy and entrepreneurship through practical strategies for youth-generated businesses. This includes reading for background research\, writing business and marketing plans\, developing marketing tools and social media plans\, and summarizing the results of a campaign. Dr. Bitz will present no-cost literacy-based entrepreneurship activities and strategies that programs can implement as clubs. Mr. Jade\, a former participant in Dr. Bitz’s Youth Music Exchange and now a professional musician and artist\, will share his personal experiences as an entrepreneur\, self-promoter\, and working artist and musician.
