DESCRIPTION

Join us on January 14th in person at the ExpandED Schools Office,  218 W. 40th Street, 12th Floor. New York, NY 10018, from 9:00 am -12:00 pm for a dynamic work session focused on setting.

 

Setting is more than just time and place—it’s the environment that shapes characters and influences mood. Students who understand setting see how context impacts the story and meaning.

This session will cover:

  • Vocabulary – descriptive language that paints vivid worlds.
  • Building Background Knowledge – exploring cultural, historical, and geographical contexts.
  • Skill Building – strategies for helping students analyze and create settings that enhance their narratives.

 

Please note: Registration will close on Thursday, January 8th. All attendees must register.
