Understanding and Minimizing Implicit Bias

ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND

This session is open to everyone.

DESCRIPTION

Developing your educator identity is a career-long endeavor. One of the first concepts educators should be aware of and confront are implicit biases. Biases are learned by everyone through direct and indirect experiences. In this session, attendees will learn what implicit biases are and how they appear in our teaching environments through our words and actions. Understanding how to meet student needs through inclusive and positive communication and routines will also be covered.
