Our Junior Board is a group of dynamic and talented young professionals from a diverse range of industries in New York City who are committed to helping us close the 6,000-hour learning gap.

Junior Board members serve as ambassadors for ExpandED Schools and generate support for our work among their friends and colleagues.



Javier Colon

Javier Colon, Co-Chair

Javier is an Assistant Vice President at Barclays Investment Bank. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Baylor University. While in college, he participated in a mentoring program where he tutored underprivileged students.

Lucy Zhang, Co-Chair

Lucy is a Private Equity Associate at The Carlyle Group. She earned her Bachelor's degree in economics at Harvard. While in college, she participated in various volunteer programs and is passionate about STEM related causes.

Madeline Andreach

Madeline is Director, Global Collateral Finance, at CIBC. She previously worked at RBC Capital Markets in the Central Funding Group on the repo sales team. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Finance from Boston College. While at BC, Madeline was a member of the varsity Cheerleading team which included frequent charity work. At RBC, Madeline holds leadership roles in several diversity and inclusion groups, and regularly volunteers for RBC’s youth-based causes.

Derek Berman

Brett Ascher

Brett is an Associate within the Real Estate division at Blackstone. She previously worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Deutsche Bank. She earned a degree in Economics from Princeton University, where she also studied Values & Public Life and European Politics. While at Princeton, she was captain of the cheerleading team and served on the executive committee of Fashion Speaks, an annual fundraiser that benefits Eden Autism Services. 

Lauren Boglino

Lauren is an NYC Department of Education Teaching Fellow earning a Masters in Special Education, Grades 7- 12. Lauren is an experienced educator who has worked extensively with children with disabilities. Prior to teaching she received a bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and worked with bilingual Pre-K programs.
Calvin Otis

Stephen Dobeck

Stephen is a Senior Program Manager on the Cloud Support team at Google, where he partners with engineers to improve the customer experience on Google Cloud products. Stephen also leads the Filipino Googler Network employee resource group and is closely involved with the Asian Google Network. Prior to Google, Stephen worked at an IT startup in Washington, DC. He earned his Bachelor's degree in psychology at Yale, where he was  member of the Varsity Lightweight Crew team.

Kearney Ferguson

Kearney is an Associate at the New York Stock Exchange, where she oversees global communications and media relations for the capital markets team. She also serves on the NYSE Board Advisory Council Steering Committee. Kearney earned a B.A. in both Journalism & Mass Communication and Political Science from The University of North Carolina.

Olivia LaFond

Olivia works in business development and operations at Tideline, an impact investing consulting firm. Prior to Tideline, she supported various non-profit organizations focused on education, health, and international development. Most recently, Olivia served as a Program Administrator at the Public Health Institute, where she managed operations and led new business development for an international leadership development program. She graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Global Health.
Calvin Otis

KJ Lee

KJ is an Associate in the New York City office of JLL where he provides tenant representation, transaction management and advisory services to a variety of clients in various sectors. KJ has over 3 years of experience in real estate and over 2 years of experience in the New York market. He earned a Master’s degree in international business from The University of Essex in Essex, United Kingdom as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York.

Zoe Liu

Zoe leads the strategic partnership arm on the business development team at IMTC. She started her career at J.P. Morgan as a corporate banking analyst, then later transitioned to an investment portfolio specialist within the wealth management division. She graduated from the University of Rochester with dual degrees in financial economics and psychology. During her undergrad, she was heavily involved in the on-campus professional fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, where she served as the professional chair. 

Rachel Park

Rachel is a Revenue Operations Manager at B12, a SaaS startup based in New York. Prior to that, she worked at M.M.LaFleur, a women-led e-commerce company. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was involved with various youth mentoring and education related initiatives. 

Gabriel Quintas

Gabriel is an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He has previously volunteered with and is passionate about causes related to educational opportunity and access.

Jamaal Scott

Jamaal is a Strategic Sales Associate at medical technology startup, Maven Clinic. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics at the University at Albany. Jamaal also leads Maven's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Partnerships team and serves as a member of Maven's DE&I board.
