Our Junior Board is a group of dynamic and talented young professionals from a diverse range of industries in New York City who are committed to helping us close the 6,000-hour learning gap.

Junior Board members serve as ambassadors for ExpandED Schools and generate support for our work among their friends and colleagues.



Javier Colon

Javier Colon, Co-Chair

Javier is a Risk Associate for Commercial Real Estate at Morgan Stanley. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Baylor University. While in college, he participated in a mentoring program where he tutored underprivileged students.
Mark Colvin

Mark Colvin, Co-Chair

Mark is an Associate within the FIG Group at Neuberger Berman. He previously worked at the tech startup Keep Holdings, where he entered the organization's operations team as their second employee. He earned both a B.S. in Sociology and B.A. in Communications from Syracuse University. While attending college, Mark was chosen to speak at the New York State Senate advocating the benefits of continued Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) scholarship funding.
Derek Berman

Derek Berman

Derek is an Investment Banking Associate at Burnham Sterling. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Delaware. While in college, Derek played for the University Water Polo team, tutored for MIS and Finance courses, and served as an academic and summer intern within the Corporate Investment Banking division at JP Morgan Chase & Co. After graduating, he moved to NYC and began working with Protiviti as a Management Consultant, before transitioning to industry.
Calvin Otis

Stephen Dobeck

Stephen is a Senior Program Manager on the Cloud Support team at Google, where he partners with engineers to improve the customer experience on Google Cloud products. Stephen also leads the Filipino Googler Network employee resource group and is closely involved with the Asian Google Network. Prior to Google, Stephen worked at an IT startup in Washington, DC. He earned his Bachelor's degree in psychology at Yale, where he was  member of the Varsity Lightweight Crew team.
Calvin Otis

Ethan Liu

Ethan is a Software Engineer at Bloomberg LP, where he has worked on internal data and the BVAL fixed income pricing product. Prior to Bloomberg, he interned at Goldman Sachs and BlackRock. Ethan graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in computer science. At Columbia, he studied broadly in the field of artificial intelligence and conducted research with the NLP lab.

Zoe Liu

Zoe leads the strategic partnership arm on the business development team at IMTC. She started her career at J.P. Morgan as a corporate banking analyst, then later transitioned to an investment portfolio specialist within the wealth management division. She graduated from the University of Rochester with dual degrees in financial economics and psychology. During her undergrad, she was heavily involved in the on-campus professional fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, where she served as the professional chair. 
Scott Ulanoski

Scott Ulanoski

Scott is a Commercial Credit Specialist at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a federal bank regulator. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He graduated from the University of Louisville with a BS in economics and mathematics.
Calvin Otis

Mandy Xu

Mandy is a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at Coach New York covering the North American store fleet. Prior to Coach, she was an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan in the FIG Group. She graduated from the University of Maryland with degrees in finance and economics. Mandy has a passion for primary and secondary education and teaches high school students financial literacy through NABA.

Lucy Zhang

Lucy is an Investment Banking Associate at Bank of America. She earned her Bachelor's degree in economics at Harvard. While in college, she participated in various volunteer programs and is passionate about STEM related causes.
