There’s nothing quite like watching young minds light up with pride and creativity—and that’s exactly what happened at the Lit C.R.E.W. Live Project Awards!
This unforgettable celebration brought together middle school students from across the city to showcase their imaginative, book-inspired projects. From Claymation recreations to original songs and dances, student podcasts, painting, jewelry making, crafting, and even mock news reports, our students reminded us just how vibrant and powerful literacy can be when it meets hands-on expression.

Each project was a unique interpretation of a story students read during the year. It wasn’t just about reading—it was about reimagining, retelling, and reinventing those stories in their own voices. And what voices they were!
As students toured the room, they had the chance to witness what peers from other schools created. You could feel the inspiration bouncing off the walls—curious questions, proud explanations, and a whole lot of “wow!”
The celebration wrapped up with a high-energy awards ceremony that truly honored student effort and creativity. Laughter, applause, and even a few happy tears filled the room.

In a world where literacy often feels confined to textbooks and tests, the Lit C.R.E.W. Live Project Awards proved that reading can be an adventure, a performance, a work of art, and a joyful community experience.
We are so proud of all our Lit C.R.E.W. scholars—and we can’t wait to see what stories they bring to life next!
