Educator Career Development

Demonstrating your teaching skills is part of the hiring process for educators. In this session, participants will learn how to best showcase their teaching and classroom management skills. You will also learn what hiring managers are looking for when assessing candidates.

This session will introduce participants to the various certifications those who wish to work in the education field need to earn in order to practice.

ExpandED Schools’ Educator Pathways Working Group will focus on connecting the pipeline for aspiring educators and patching the leaks that students fall through due to challenges in their journey towards the education sector. Representatives from local colleges, universities, public schools, and charter networks will talk to participants about their programs and hiring process. Participants will network with these representatives while learning about the different types of programs offered in NYC.
