Last night was a memorable evening as we came together for our spring gala, joined by over 200 education and equity champions. The theme of this year’s gala was School-Community Partnerships, chosen to highlight the pivotal role these collaborations play in expanding the resources and support available for students beyond the classroom.
This year, ExpandED Schools recognized Rachel Skaistis, a partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, and a valued member of the ExpandED Board, for her exceptional efforts in advancing educational equity. We also honored Cravath for their longstanding commitment to expanding access to enriching learning opportunities for young New Yorkers. Among our special guests were participants from ExpandED Schools’ Career-Connected Learning programs. Serita, now a college freshman at City Tech, CUNY, Angelina, a senior at John Adams High School in Queens, Autumn, and Diana, recent graduates from Brooklyn High School for Law And Technology, and Anuskha, a senior at Brooklyn High School of The Arts. Among our special guests was Daniela, a senior at Harvest Collegiate High School, who shared her career exploration journey through a video and speech.
